Mark felt shivers running down his spine as she squeezed his hand and licked his lips, nodding. “Okay, come one!”, he said with a little smile and got out, waiting for Naya to walked up to him. After they checked in, he took a seat next to her in the waiting room, staying silent. He felt like Naya was really not feeling that well and he got worried. What was wrong with her? As he heard her name, he snapped out of his thoughts and looked at her. “Go…it’ll be okay!”, he said and squeezed her shoulder gently. She looked scared and as he noticed her shaking hand, he took a deep breath and got up, holding his own out to her. “I’ll go with you!”, he said and smiled a little.
Stepping into the room filled with different medical equipment and odd painted walls, Naya felt a bit at ease but still not as comfortable as she would’ve liked to have been. Mark being there made her a bit better and she could tell she was worrying him, which she didn’t want to do. Every since she was a young girl Naya was always afraid of doctors and needles and felt it was best to stay away from them for as long as she could - unfortunately she couldn’t this time. After ten minutes of waiting the doctor entered with a warm smile on his face and greeted Naya and Mark respectively before asking the usual questions of “What brings you here today?” “How long have you had these symptoms?” “Have you changed your diet?”
After examining her - taking her blood pressure, looking into her eyes and ears, and checking her weight and height - he then revisited his previous questions listening to Naya describe her symptoms of increase blood flow and painful periods - something she tried to whisper feeling weird saying these things with Mark in the room. The doctor “Hmm-ed” to himself and asked her the final question that Naya dreaded to hear. “Are you pregnant?” She looked down at her fingers before answering, “I don’t think so.. I couldn’t be.. I don’t know.” She shrugged.
So i think it’s time i say hello.
